A Poem About DJing

4 hemispheres and a sun

Sun

1 pair of needles and a set of headphones to hear

Hear

2 turntables and a mixer

Mix

DJ means disc jockey so we’re clear

Clear

But are they mixing with their eyes or their ears

Whether using pads or sphreres

Please use your ears

Even the pitch control markers have changed over the years

So please use your ears

Don’t worry if your vinyl isn’t clean

Just keep your spare needles near

There are DJs who actually spin out there

But there’s not as much room for err

When pressing box-shaped buttons trends over baby-scratch cueing

Maybe hi-hats are easier to mix when you can actually see what the sound is doing

The Earth is not flat

There are nature-made curves and man-made squares

Dips, marks and ridges

My needles are running through microscopic canyons

Maybe the Earth will feel better with diamonds digging themselves back underground

belligerent scoundrels are building rubix cube-shaped controllers

The soil is holding all of our 4 corners on its shoulders

Future generations will do better and know more

Please take care as the weather is changing around the Earth. I hope more can be learned about schizophrenia in the future. Thank you for reading!
